Spa and changing rooms are absolutely sub zero freezing come out of steam room and you shiver trunk spinner green mouldy around all edges needs more effort from management l would not recommend

A great experience from start to end. The hotel is set in extensive grounds away from the road with a private drive. The outside areas are very well kept with loads of seating areas to enjoy a drink or a meal. A welcoming and well thought out space. Great for walks and seeing the local rabbits munching the grass. The hotel looks impressive from the outside, and on entering the magic doesn't end. Everything is well preserved, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean and fresh. The reception and public areas are really inviting and friendly. Our room was on the 3rd floor, easy accessed by the lift and was well decorated, clean and tasteful. Plenty of storage with an impressive period style bathroom. We were on half board basis and dined in an extension of the restaurant. Again the service and decor was superb and we never felt that we weren't treated any differently or inferiorly to any other guests using the a la carte sections. As an organized tour at times food options were a little limited but generally there were meals available for most diets or preferences. The buffet breakfast was also of a decent quality with plenty of options and choices. After our meal we went to the inviting bar and enjoyed drinks outside in the attractive grounds every evening. The rooms have excellent sound proofing, and are very quiet and generally we slept well. What makes this hotel extra special are the staff. From the moment we walked in we couldn't have felt more welcomed, valued and comfortable. We would really like to mention Ruby who does an incredible job in your restaurant. I have some specific dietary intolerances, and Ruby went above and beyond to make sure that I was well looked after and not excluded from enjoying a great meal. Ruby worked really to turned a potentially uncomfortable situation into a really positive experience, and I was never made to feel embarrassed or awkward. Ruby was so professional yet friendly and all smiles. The only improvements which could be made are: A better choice of bedside lamps - metal anglepoise lamps really don't match the charm of the room. A new TV - the TV is quite old and an upgraded Smart TV would be an improvement. Maybe a coffee machine in the room. All in all a great visit, and we would love to stay again.
