Hollybrook Country Inn

Having spent the day on the Gwili Railway, I booked into the Hollybrook for the night instead of driving back to Monmouthshire. I have stayed many times over the years and woudnt stay anywhere else. Jackie & Gemma are great hosts, lovely food & cosy clean rooms

It was August Bank Holiday weekend; my brother and his American wife were flying from Denver, Colorado and wanted to meet the family. We planned to ride on the Gwili Railway, which meant that we would be really late for lunch. However, a phone call to the Hollybrook Inn put us on our ease - the Inn was absolutely accommodating, so a large table was booked. When we got to the Inn, the landlady and the waitress were friendly and welcoming. I had my pint of lovely Cwtch beer from the Tiny Rebel brewery, and it tasted delicious! Both I and my partner ordered roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, and soon it came - with an abundance of potatoes, carrots and greens to go with the dish. The meal was amazing and quite substantial, and the menu was tempting with a series of puddings of offer. We choose ice cream - not one, but FOUR scoops. This was a really memorable meal, and it topped off the Bank Holiday. Thank you so such, Hollybrook Inn - you've made our day!

We went here for Sunday lunch last weekend and had a really lovely experience. There is plenty of easy parking outside. The interior is very pleasant and homely. The place itself is clean and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There was an excellent selection including vegetarian option. There is the choice of two courses or three courses and we chose to have all three… portions are good and the food was excellent. Everything was very tasty, hot and homemade. We will be returning and will recommend to anyone wanting good food at a reasonable price.
