White Horse Hotel Rottingdean

The hotel is well positioned close to the beach and on a frequent bus route to Brighton. The hotel was friendly and welcoming with a comfortable bar and restaurant as well as seating on the terrace. The bedroom was clean, bed comfortable, shower easy to operate. There were two chairs and opening windows which we appreciated. Free car-parking. Breakfast was excellent but for the continental option we thought there should have had cheese, ham, and boiled eggs available.

Brighton has some pretty charmless chain hotels ,the White Horses is the perfect alternative. The village is charming with an absence of commercial tat and some great literary connections. The hotel is immediately off the (small) beach and has on site parking which is so welcome after a long drive. The staff are friendly and efficient. There is a decent bar and the restaurant features local seafood. The old hotel had got pretty run down but the new owners have made a really tasteful job of renovation without the bland interiors of so many hotels The breakfast is excellent and served swiftly.A good range of food on offer.

Had a great 5 night stay here recently. Was travelling with my dog so room choices more limited as I had hoped for a room with bath. Room was excellent however - modern, clean and comfortable although the room temperature was a challenge even with the fans supplied. Breakfast and reception staff were particularly friendly and helpful - shout out to Amy, Nigel and Jackie. The breakfast was fantastic and the two or so evening meals I had there were good. Great location and good transport links. Hope to return soon.
