The Kilns Hotel

I stayed at the hotel the night before my wedding and the night of my wedding. The staff were amazing in particular Dionne. We had a problem with the evening reception at late notice and she helped us to lay on a buffet for our guests and made the day really special. I would not hesitate to recommend the venue or stay again. The room was excellent as was the restaurant. Excellent hotel!

I can’t recommend this friendly small place enough if you need to be in the area for a few days. The staff are universally helpful, kind and informative. The food is excellent and the drinks reasonably priced. The downside, if you can call it that, is it is a bit isolated, but it is only a mile from the M25 so great of you are on your way or returning late from Dover, Gatwick etc and want an early start back on the road. The rooms are comfortable, very clean and the bathrooms large. However, both the sink and the shower stall are tiny compared to the room they sit in. It’s odd, with so much space to choose the smallest shower, so tight that one has to wriggle in and out of it with care. The WiFi is good, but avoid room 18, it doesn’t reach that one!

Looks nice from the outside and for what I paid was good price, though the guy on the desk with not friendly and looked like he could'nt be bothered and I felt like he did not like or trust me, had to prove who I was which was not mentioned when booking. Stayed in a room not joined to the main building, was clean and tidy. Was in a block with two other rooms but could hear the room next door and the room above TV most of the night. As a shared bathroom dirty wet towels from other guest left on floor and skid marks in the toilet, smelt not to good either. Would I stay here again? Only if they employe staff that are happy to see you and make you feel welcome, regular checks on the shared bathrooms would be a good idea.
