George Hotel

Quite easily the worst hotel I have stayed in and I haven't even slept yet. I booked the George Hotel through work but they put me in their sexonday George Hotel opposite which is basically just rooms in a building, you have to clamber over homeless people outsidw to swipe your doorcard to enter the building. Already heard someone trying to kixk the entrance door in. I have never felt unsafe in a hotel before, almost tempted to check out. The noiss outside is terrible. The TV doesn't have any BBC channels and the fan is something from a bootfair But have the pleasure of having to walk over the road to the real George Hotel for breakfast in the morning. Needless to say will be advising colleagues not to book this hotel in the future. Work have paid for this but I want to give them their money back!

We had a lovely two day break at The George Hotel in Colchester,the location is very central and it’s close to the castle and the gardens.The hotel is clean and the staff all very pleasant and friendly.The breakfast was delicious,I had a full English which was eggs,proper thick bacon and proper butcher’s sausages,beans,tomatoe,mushrooms and black pudding.Our room was quiet,clean and spacious with a very comfy bed.There was a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities along with free WiFi,all in all a very enjoyable stay and thoroughly recommended if you want a short break in Colchester.

We hired The Lounge private dining room at The George for a special double birthday celebration and had a wonderful evening. We were made to feel very welcome and we were very well looked after. The food was excellent and the atmosphere very relaxed & positive. We would thoroughly recommend The George for a get together with friends and family for a special occasion 🙂
