We booked Wivenhoe House 9 months before our wedding, and from start to finish it was just so well organised, Louise was brilliant. We knew we were in safe hands. We were made to feel that nothing was too much effort, and whatever we wanted they would try their upmost to accommodate. On the day, all of the staff were so lovely and attentive. They made our day really special, and were on hand all of the time. Sam, Paula and Louise were amazing. The brilliance of it all is that although Wivenhoe staff cater for weddings every single week, they were 100% focussed on us and our day, as if it was the wedding of the year.

What a find! This hotel is a gem just outside the city of Colchester. The hotel is within the grounds of the university, surrounded by glorious parkland. We stayed in the Portico Room in the older part of the hotel and we couldn’t fault it. The room is huge, everything is clean and well maintained. The staff at reception could not have been more helpful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in the area. We are thrilled that we found it!
