Woodview Bed & Breakfast

Beautiful B&B tucked away with amazing rural and sunset views. Highly recommend for a good, comfortable and quiet sleep with good facilities. The sunsets are amazing and the view gives a sense of relaxation and serenity with Julie being a lovely host.

The rooms themselves are nice clean and so is the shared bathroom, it has lovely views and the building is beautiful. It is out of the way so you hear no traffic. However... the doors to all the rooms were thin old wood with just old iron latches meaning anytime someone enters or leaves a room it is very loud and can be herd from rooms down the hallway. You are unable to secure your room from the outside if you go out, there is just a small pin to lock the door from the inside. There is also a parrot and dog as pets to the hosts which wasn't mentioned anywhere, this would have been useful to know as I have a mid dog hair allergy. The parrot is also very vocal and can be heard from the rooms through closed doors. As we booked on Booking.com it didn't say anywhere that breakfast wasn't included so we got there and we were told that - Breakfast isn't included - We cannot eat any food in our rooms - We cannot use the kitchen to prepare food - We have to ask for crockery to be left out so we can eat - We can only use the dining table to eat as there was no outside space for guests to sit without it being the hosts family's space So we were very restricted for food options while there. Unless you decide to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner out in restaurants which we did not want to do after being very tired and not having slept well from the latches of other doors, other guests being very loud and the parrot. Stayed 2 out of our 3 booked nights as we just couldn't do another night of poor sleep.

Many reviews mention the impressive breakfast but be warned that of recent date the proprietors have decided: "room only at the moment on these prices I am directing anybody to stanway where all the eating houses are." Somewhat confusing as their own web page clearly states: Dining (Tick) Cooked breakfast. You are encouraged to take advantage of the dining area should you take your own breakfast. So, as long as you are clear on that point It is a delightful B&B (-B) 29/07/2023
