Had a good experience, rooms were gorgeous really lovely and comfortable. I personally prefer a softer bed. Room was clean and spacious enough for us we had everything we needed for our stay. Check-in was great and cookies were delicious, I personally had the allergy free one and it was just as good. We used the spa during our visit and loved it, next time we would look to book in a treatment but definitely made the most of the spa. We did have dinner/late lunch once during our stay and we definitely would not do it again, for the price we expected much better the service was slow and the food was subpar. My food was very very oily and didn’t taste great. But we had waited so long for service in the end we just wanted to pay and leave. The breakfast however was very good but it felt understaffed and chaotic especially on the Saturday morning compared to the Sunday. We were also not asked about allergies or explained the situation with breakfast. The food itself was good and the we would have the breakfast again. Overall we had a good experience and would return but would avoid the restaurant for anything other than breakfast.

Overall a great stay, lovely facilities. After a slight hiccup with food… Ava fixed every issue and made it right. The food was fantastic. Followed by great service at the bar from Oliver and Beth considering some surrounding tables that were being sincerely awkward.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had stayed here 9 years ago and enjoyed it but there were a few things wrong then. I can honestly say I had a much better stay this time. The only negative was the receptionist at check in she wasn’t very friendly and we asked her about buses later in the day and again didn’t find her very friendly but all the other receptionists and staff were lovely and friendly. The bed was so comfortable and great pillows too and plenty of tea/coffees etc in the room. The bath was a bit small and was probably needing upgraded but that was only thing wrong in the room. Air conditioning was great and needed and fridge, safe and everything else we needed. Lots of coat hangers too unlike some hotels. I would have liked a set of drawers but that’s personal choice. . We did get lovely chocolate cookies on arrival which I think is a nice extra for honours members. It was my birthday while we were there and a lovely card and vouchers for two free drinks were there for me which was lovely. I’m coeliac and at breakfast the restaurant managers were (Gabrielle was one she was lovely, there was a lovely man too but I didn’t get his name) really helpful and I felt very safe eating there which is so important when you’re coeliac. Lots of gluten free options for me. The only negative at the breakfast was that bacon ran out and took a while to be replaced and my partner had to wait a while to get it and he would have liked black pudding but we really enjoyed breakfast. The hotel gardens were so nice and relaxing to sit in with their tables, chairs and parasols. The staff in the restaurant were all lovely and so were the bar staff and cleaners. The hotel has a bus stop at the bottom of the drive which was great and we got on it into Chester to save driving. Great hotel to stay for Chester, Chester Zoo and Cheshire Oaks. Would definitely have given 5 star if not for the little issues. Would definitely visit again. Loved it
