Thornbury Golf Centre

Cannot complain about anything, good price, great location for Bristol. We used it as a stop over for our trip to Cornwall. If your a golfer its perfect. Check in was simple even when we arrived late. We had breakfast in the club house, again good value.

8 of us stayed here on a golf break on 10th April. We stayed in rooms 8,9,10 and 11. We all had a great time on the golf course which was in fairly good condition considering the extreme weather conditions we have had over the last few months or so. The rooms in the lodge are looking quite tired and need redecorating or even just a good clean. The tops of the skirting were covered in dust. Some of the paint on the walls is cracked and looks as though it is peeling. The wash hand basin in room 8 is chipped and the areas around the plug holes are stained brown and look as though they haven't been properly cleaned in a long time. There are cracked and broken tiles on the bath panels too with areas of grout missing. One of our guys in room 10 woke up to find ants in his bed and ants in his coffee cup. There was an infestation of ants behind the dressing table, they were crawling up the wall, along the skirting tops and on the tea tray. The bar facilities in the clubhouse were good, service was slow due to them being understaffed. The reception in the pro shop was luke warm and felt as if we were intruding when we asked for some score cards.

Very convenient position, ideal for visiting family in Thornbury. Nice comfortable room, good heating and amenities. Restaurant served high quality simple fare.. plenty of it, with cheerful team in attendance. I asked for a sheet and blanket as I don’t like duvets, and they were provided with no fuss. A bedside table lamp by both beds would have been appreciated, but value for money it was excellent all round.
