Cheltenham Park Hotel

My wife and I booked a luxury spa package at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham for our wedding anniversary, but the stay was ruined by severe operational failures and complete neglect. Despite purchasing a full package online, we were told prior to arrival that the spa was overbooked, and after hours of poor communication, we were forced to forfeit the central feature of our break. Upon arrival, the hotel's main grounds were blocked off due to an undisclosed private wedding, restricting us to an unkempt terrace littered with full ashtrays, dead plants, and broken sun umbrellas—one of which actually blew over and struck another guest. Faced with spending our anniversary looking over a gravel roof on a dangerous, neglected patio, we chose to leave; while the duty manager, Olivia, was apologetic and processed a full refund, it does not make up for a 2.5-hour drive, wasted time off work, and a completely ruined special occasion.

I met a friend and we stayed overnight in the Hilton. Our room was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was boiling hot! No complaints. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna were great, no issues. The only drawback to our stay was when both my friend and I ordered a chicken dish for our dinner. Although, it came with two sides and a sauce of your choice, it was very disappointing. Unfortunately, I felt as if I had ordered a sparrow, as opposed to a chicken!!Our waiter Ben was amazing, he was very understanding and empathetic. I would like to say a huge thank you to both him and his colleague Bella, who was also very kind and sympathetic! The issue was resolved and it all ended very well. On a positive note, I would definitely recommend the pizza. (Garden one) We are this at lunchtime.

Good location. 10 mins from central town outside of town location have to pay for parking £5 overnight even if you’re a guest and nothing really around? Staff ok not overly helpful or friendly. No lift. Had to carry luggage up winding staircase. Room ok. Tiniest bathroom I’ve ever stayed in and not very clean mould on tiles top left corner of shower cubicle and dead moths & dirt on outside of shower cubicle in between shower and sink easy to spot. I don’t go looking for it like some reviewers do! Hung wash bag on back of door and hook came out of the door. If you hang anything on the back of the shower room door you can’t open the door up fully. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom other than on top of toilet where towels are. Can’t watch TV in bed as in corner of the room on opposite wall and not on a pull out wall bracket so can’t see TV at such an angle. Bed comfortable would have preferred options of pillows other than the 1. Wouldn’t stay again. Expensive for what it is. Could do with a refresh and good clean.
