Great hotel, great location, beautiful gardens, delicious dinner. Star lost for breakfast (pastries looked sad, muesli very sweet and no unsweetened option) and fire safety. Whilst the staff member who showed us to our room was at pains to explain the fire exit route, there were no fire exit signs that I could see and the fire doors were wedged back with door stops. If fire doors need to be open, they have to be on automatic release devices. I hope the otherwise excellent hotel will address this promptly.

An excellent wedding anniversary weekend, a highly enjoyable experience. The hotel has an excellent setting with beautifully maintained grounds, positioned on a picturesque village. The building is full of character and well maintained, the rooms comfortable. The dining experience was enjoyable, the staff friendly and well trained. We would return and recommend to others.

We were passing this lovely looking hotel whilst out on a morning walk and we both fancied a coffee. We walked in and asked if they did coffees an were told that they did. It was our wedding anniversary and the lovely waiter overheard us and wished us a happy anniversary. When our coffee and muffin was brought to us, they also brought us a plate with 2 chocolates and happy anniversary written in the plate. It was such a lovely thought and absolutely made our day. The waiter was great and I didn't catch his name, the coffee was hot and strong and the muffin fresh and warm. The staff were all so friendly. Thank you and what a lovely hotel!!!
