One night stay at end of Road trip.
Super location, lovely gardens back and front which give a feeling of space/calmness.
Plenty coffee /restaurant options close by and shopping options only a short walk
Parking ( at a charge) very useful,
Lovely room , breakfast very standard but absolutely fine.
Yes, it is an older building with an inevitable ‘squeak’ here and there but would happily return.
Location location as they say !

We stayed at the Queens Hotel for 3 nights from the 12-15th August during the heat wave. We booked a Junior Suite which was at the front of the hotel overlooking Montpellier Gardens. Our air condoning kept the room very cool throughout our stay. Although parts of our room were dated, it was very comfortable with a settee and 2 arm chairs. There was also a mini bar with water and soft drinks which were replenished daily
The location of the hotel was very central and close to shops and cafés. This is a very old hotel but the front is very impressive looking. There was plenty of parking at the back of the hotel. There is a very nice patio area at the back of the hotel with tables, chairs and umbrellas if u wanted to sit outside for a drink etc.
We were very impressed with ALL the staff, especially Jack on reception and the breakfast staff. We enjoyed the full english breakfast to order as it was always hot. The staff there were very friendly, polite and professional and the manager was always on hand.
We would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

We recently stayed at the Queens Hotel Cheltenham for one night in the Imperial Suite to celebrate my partner’s 30th birthday.
The suite itself was stunning, but unfortunately, the overall experience was let down by poor service and lack of communication. Prior to our arrival, a member of the front desk team contacted me to offer a paid celebration package. I opted in, which was supposed to include five bottled beers in an ice bucket, a box of chocolates, rose petals, swan towels on the bed, and a personalized note.
When we checked in and opened the door to our suite, only the beers and chocolates were there. There were no rose petals, no swan towels, and no note. Opening the door to an incomplete surprise was really disappointing and put a dampener on the start of our stay.
When I went down to reception to ask what had happened, I was told they hadn't received their delivery of rose petals. They then asked if I still wanted them to set up the swan towels, but that would have required us to leave our room after we had already unpacked and settled in, which defeated the purpose.
While the staff refunded me £8 for the missing elements and I understand that these issues happen, the main issue was the complete lack of proactive communication. A quick message or call prior to our check-in to explain the situation would have managed our expectations and avoided a ruined surprise.
The Imperial Suite is beautiful, but for a premium room and a special occasion, the service fell short of the standard we expected.
