Holiday Inn Express Gloucester South

Comfortable hotel just 5 minutes from the M5. Pet friendly. Big car park. Simple, modern rooms. Bar. The Bumble Bee pub is a short walk away. There's an Asda with a fuel station just a minute up the road. Park and ride buses to Gloucester right next door. Very handy. We've stayed here a few times now because it's reasonably priced but they do charge £30 extra for your dog. Note: Get to breakfast early if you have a dog because there's a very limited number of dog friendly tables and you might have a long wait. This hotel does not have air conditioned rooms.

We stayed during the recent heatwave and was shocked to see that there was no air conditioning in any of the bedrooms, the temperature in the room was unbearable. We had our dog with us as we were returning home following a holiday, and needed to ensure that her body temperature was cool. A fan was provided in the room and we were eventually given an additional one. The Holiday Inn is a pretty big name - they need to get air conditioning into all of the bedrooms at this site. There is air conditioning in reception, the bar and the restaurant just nothing in the bedrooms. The staff were helpful and the breakfast selection was great, plenty of everything and vegetarian sausages available on request. No air conditioning was the only downside.

We found The Holiday Inn Express Gloucester South to be in a good easy to find location, the Staff were all pleasant and helpful, the hotel was clean & tidy, the reception & lounge area were well laid out and cool as this part of the hotel was air conditioned, Unfortunately our room didn’t have Aircon, and on a day (and night) where the temperatures were over 30’ it made for and uncomfortable night, on the positive side, the room was clean & tidy, had free WiFi, tea & coffee making facilities, and dedicated usb plugs for our electricals. In the morning we had a good breakfast with quality Tea & Coffee, , also there’s free parking
