Had a lovely overnight break for my birthday. Everything was perfect, lovely room, great garden with super food. Our dinner was very enjoyable. Staff delightful and very professional. Very lovely breakfast too the next morning. Thank you for my card and complimentary drink too, nice touch. All in all a very clean and well run hotel with great quirkiness. We will be back.

Attended along with 9 members of family for Sunday lunch in hotel garden, setting beautiful sadly meals were very poor considering the cost. In particular the vegetarian roast was extremely poor. Roasted vegetable & feta pithivier with not even a hint of feta, 3 tiny roast potatoes 1 maple carrot, 1tsp squash mash, cauliflower cheese -non existent, 1tbsp seasonal greens & gravy. Worst veggie meal we have had in a long time. Deserts sadly equally poor, Eton Mess in particular was just a bowl of whipped cream with absolutely no meringue at all just a couple of blueberries and a few pistachios on top. At the prices charged we expected far better, sadly it was not the enjoyable meal we had hoped for and we certainly couldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Lovely hotel with character. All staff seemed very friendly and eager to help. For a bit of luxury go for Room 1, large , quiet and well equipped. Restaurant food is of great quality and well presented. A slight hiccup at dinner time was very quickly and professionally resolved. A most enjoyable stay
