We just had an overnight stay here and it was a really good choice. It's very old and as a result has a maze of stairs and doorways and isn't the easiest to negotiate even with minimal luggage but it certainly has charm and quirkiness! I only marked it down one point because of the stairs and low ceilings and I don't think it would be easy to escape in the case of a fire but no hotel probably would be. I was told that the 'new ' part (which was still 100 years old!) had a lift. The staff were all very friendly and we had a good relationship with Gardinia on the front desk. The door key was temperamental and took about 3 attempts each time, which I believe was common. Our double room was at the top so had sloping ceiling parts to consider but it was spacious and well appointed, as was the bathroom. It's central and right on the main road but the street noise was ok and we slept well in the comfy bed. We enjoyed the cooked breakfast and coffee in the garden but didn't have a main meal there. I did see a sign saying they had a 2 course menu for £23 and three courses for £27 (from memory!), which sounds really good value. We parked in the car park at the back and it felt safe enough.

We had the most amazing time staying in Morton in Marsh and particularly our stay at the Manor House Hotel. The hotel was fabulous and the grounds were just brilliant. This is an old hotel, so expect slightly wonky walls and slightly uneven floors. But this adds to the fabulousness of the hotel. They have their very own gorgeous bespoke cocktail that is made with mulberries from their own tree in their garden. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, particularly the maitre de Kostas. He was so welcoming and engaging, and living local to the area gave us some great advice regarding where to visit-which we hadn’t even thought of. This advice enhanced our stay. We will definitely visit again and would hope that Kostas is working when we return. Thank you for a brilliant stay.

Highlights: lovely garden, healthy and plentiful breakfast, lovely tea nook in the room, good housekeeping, thick towels, authentic Cotswold building, personable front desk staff, good central location. Drawbacks: no AC, only one small fan provided, high tub not suitable for the elderly, variable hot water supply for showers.
