LOUD I booked this room for one reason: after walking up Snowdon all day, I just wanted a good night’s sleep. Instead, I got one of the worst nights I’ve had in a hotel. I was put in a building away from the main hotel, directly opposite a bar with people drinking outside late into the evening. The bedroom window didn’t even shut properly, so every bit of noise came straight into the room. Then from around 4am the seagulls were relentless. Sleep was pretty much impossible. To top it off, the TV didn’t work because there was no signal. Yes, the room itself was lovely, clean and modern, but for £150 a night that’s nowhere near enough. A hotel’s first job is to provide a decent night’s sleep, and on that front this place failed completely. I left feeling massively disappointed and wouldn’t stay again.

Very well known in the area, particularly for their Sunday carvery! Tip of the day is to get there early as it is very popular so we would suggest booking. Go at 12 noon and then all meats will be available. Very good and worth a visit.

Lovely stay in a true historic inn right in the centre of Caernarfon, just steps from the castle. The staff were so kind and welcoming. We loved all the historic small touches. Our room was modern, comfortable and convenient, while still retaining its historic charm. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and the food was excellent. Free parking voucher for the castle's long-term parking lot was a bonus and really appreciated -- would recommend that people arrive early as they have a limited number of these vouchers to give out. Even though the heat wave had broken and the weather was cool and comfortable outdoors, our room was quite stuffy. The window didn't open fully, and I think it was above the kitchen and received some heat from the roof vents. The staff helpfully provided a fan, but ensuring the windows open better and that there's more ventilation would make the rooms more comfortable for summer stays.
