I'm going to rate everything individually starting with the positives.
Restaurant - 5* - you should be incredibly proud to have such a good chef. The lamb dish was outstanding as was the fillet steak and the local cheese board. This really made our stay and my birthday, the staff in the restaurant as well were all amazing. This would bring us back to your hotel even if we wouldn't stay again.
Location - 5* - specially after the descent it's a fantastic location right at the foot of the Llanberis pass, very good for climbing and lots of parking for guests.
Bistro - 4* - very good more casual dining options, staff again very friendly, really nice fish and chips however the curry sauce wasn't needed and didn't match a chip shop flavour. Let down by the drinks options, poretti was off and didn't get restocked until the day we left. The Snowdon larger is definitely an acquired taste and we found it undrinkable. Not very nice wine options by the glass.
Reception / greeting - 2* - the only staff that let the hotel down. Not a friendly welcome, the couple of times we needed to ask questions they were talking amongst themselves and we had to wait.
Room - 1* - and that's being quite kind. For £180 the standard of room 503 was ridiculous. Over looking and on the same level as the car park it was incredibly noisy. The blinds didn't close all the way and you couldn't open the windows so it was horribly stuffy. The walls were scuffed and the bed pushed together made for a very uncomfortable night's sleep. By far the worst bit though was the bathroom, grubby, mouldy, cracked ceilings and very little hot water (terrible when you just want a shower after a climb) the shower screen didn't close properly so we were constantly using our towels to dry the bathroom floor.
breakfast - 1* - on both days none of the food at the buffet was hot, no spoons out for porridge or cereal. coffee machine needed the water filter changing and the coffee tasted tainted
Unfortunately you are a hotel first and foremost so I have to give a rathong based on our stay and not the fantastic food we had.
We would return to eat definitely but we would stay elsewhere.

We recently went for a family meal at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Llanberis. The Hotel Grounds are stunning and clean. All the staff there were all excellent. The food was delicious and presented so well. My wife had the Greek Lamb Kofta and it tasted fantastic, I had the Swordfish with potatoes and it was the best fish dish I've ever had and was cooked to perfection. Our son finished with a Cheesecake for dessert which was simply out of this world. I highly recommend this Hotel and look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you so much. David Lloyd.
