Tylney Hall Hotel

Fantastic location, beautiful grounds, walking distance to local pubs, so much to do and see within an hour radius of hotel. Hotel is a little dated in parts but this seems to add to its charm. The bar menu was poor, we had lunch one day and did not return as felt value was poor and the food wasn’t fantastic, however local pubs were fabulous. Staff friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely stay and particularly enjoyed the wonderful massage by Amber. After learning that it was a birthday treat, Amber very kindly arranged some complimentary fizz and a beautiful “Happy Birthday” dessert plate. Such a thoughtful and personal touch, and it really made the occasion feel special. The afternoon tea was also lovely and plentiful, with plenty to enjoy and beautifully presented. Our room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed and a powerful shower, everything you need for a relaxing stay. The dinner was well presented and breakfast was also tasty and a great start to the day. There were a couple of minor drawbacks. The WiFi wasn’t particularly strong, and our room was quite a walk away, involving going up and down stairs and through some heavy doors, which wasn’t the most convenient. There were also workmen outside our room quite early in the morning, although this was addressed and rectified at check-out. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay, and the thoughtful and personal service from Amber was a real highlight. The birthday touches were particularly lovely and made the experience feel extra special.

Visited end of Sept for my birthday! I love an old historical house hotel, with beautiful grounds and this place didn’t disappoint! We had a beautiful spacious suite, however a little disappointed at the lack of slippers and the ‘stingy’ toiletry allocation…. Even cheaper less elegant hotels have slippers in the room! The shower gel and shampoo were in a contraption on the wall so not sure why the body lotion came in tiny bottles that just about covered a leg, and the hand wash was horrible unhygienic soap bar !!! I had to ask for more body lotion…. and got one more little bottle! Probably due to being Molten Brown products…. But really should be in a contraption on wall for those of us who love and use body lotion! Small complaints but just simple touches that should be automatically given in an expensive luxury hotel! The food was lovely, the staff friendly and helpful especially Evelina the afternoon tea lady! And the whole ambience and decoration absolutely wonderful! The gardens and ponds are beautiful and the number of different plants and trees was amazing. I LOVED the enormous redwoods which I’ve only ever seen in California , so was astonished to see them here! The colours this time of year were stunning. I would definitely come back as it was beautiful and a lovely birthday treat. Thank you
