Holiday Inn Southampton Eastleigh

Stayed here with family for Peppa pig. Looked amazing on paper. Advertised as very kid friendly with a goody bag on arrival and treats before bed. The treat is a cookie and milk on only one night of your stay. We stayed for 4 nights. The goody bag literally was thrown to the side as it was just a paper bag with a crayon inside. The biggest let down here was the food. Oh my goodness. The kids chicken came out so hard it was inedible. I did say this and was told that's how its made and a new one would just come out the same. What a great alternative! Our mains were nice but extremely overpriced! £19 for a shepherds pie and no side! We decided to give another go 2 nights later. Kids wanted pizza this time and that didnt even include a side so we had to pay extra. The kids pizza is literally a Chicago town mini pizza cut into 4 slices. I ordered the caesar salad and added the chicken on but it came out without the chicken so had to send back. It came back and the chicken was chewy and the sauce was a little off. The breakfast is a solid 3/10. Has everything you would imagine but extremely bland. The fruit is all off and completely inedible which is disappointing if you want a healthy option. Our room was ok. A great size for a family of 5. House keeping is questionable as dirty cups were left. The staff at this hotel are all amazing and our little girls loved the pool. The gym is also lovely and very clean.

Due to an issue with another hotel I turned up at the Holiday Inn Eastleigh with no reservation and feeling very stressed. The man on reception, I didn’t get his name but he was French, went above and beyond. He was so friendly, listened to my stresses, helped me with the booking process for the pool. He was really busy and multi tasking with lots of guests and he took it all in his stride. Rooms spacious and clean, bathroom a bit dated and small but not end of the world. All other staff I encountered were also exceptionally friendly and professional. Pool area was nice and clean but it did feel a bit congested with health club members doing lanes in one section. Usually i would give the hotel 4/5, but due to how good the staff were it’s a 5/5. If Holiday Inn read this then give the French guy a raise!

Just a one-night stay on a family trip. Friendly, efficient staff. Bright and clean. Can't fault the room in any way. Very comfortable bed and effective aircon (important as the weather was very warm).
