Although the hotel was rundown, at £130 for a Saturday night it was good value.
The room was clean and large overlooking some large trees. However booking was the worst Ive ever experienced.The hotel booking system seemed to be organised thro a third party like booking.com. The first agency I rang quoted £150, second £130 ( vrbo),
and third £250, which they said was the hotel’s preferred booking site!!!!
Every other hotel I’ve stayed in, in England offers the cheapest price if you ring them direct…..Needless to say couldn’t find direct number ( which was lucky!).
This used to be the smartest go-to hotel in Winchester. How the mighty are fallen!
