We visited the farmhouse on a Friday evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, especially our waitress Poppy who made sure we knew all of the specials available. Very cosy atmosphere and a lovely place for a special occasion. We had the lamb and venison as mains, both very tender and full of flavour. Puddings were huge and very tasty. Would recommend a visit!

Four of us met there for Sunday lunch. Overall it was a disappointing experience which we cannot recommend. There are some good points (plentiful on-site car parking, friendly staff, roast beef tastey and plentiful, good capachino afterwards) but too many bad points. We arrived early on purpose for a catch up chat before our 2.30pm table booking, but discovered there was not much space indoors to sit and wait in comfort. Eventually the staff offered a large side room for us to sit in. We were called to our table about 10 minutes later than booked time. The dining room is in an extension built on to the original farm house building. The low flat ceiling gives a high the noise level when the room is full of customers, making conversation difficult. The Sunday Lunch menu is quite limited and dishes seemed expensive (£27 for roast beef with veg). Cheapest house red wine was £7.50 per glass. The staff were friendly and took our orders promptly, but the food only arrived after about 25 mins. We had two roast beef and two roast chicken dishes. Beef was thick, tender and tastey, but the accompanying roast potatoes and veg were little and disappointing. Roast potatoes were very tough and not may of them. The carrot was OK but french beans undercooked. Overall the food was not very hot. We ordered a few desert dishes (prices about £10 each) which were OK. Waiter brought the bill promptly to the table and took payment. Bill included a 12.5% service gratuity, which we reduced to a more appropriate level. We moved to a cosy table outside the dining room and enjoyed a chat and tea and coffee to finish (tasted OK).
Obvious improvements are a) a wider menu options at a wider range of price points, b) food hot, c) more plentiful potatoes and vegetables which are d)better cooked.

I don't know if words are enough to say how incredible this venue is, but I'll do my best. My Husband and I recently got married here and it truly was the best day of our lives thanks to the most amazing, kind and above and beyond team at Redcoats. We had done a lot of research on Wedding Venues, and Redcoats was actually the first (and last) one we viewed, because honestly, even in our first show round with the lovely Megan, it was nothing but green flags. As we went through our meetings/planning etc, we could just tell that these guys absolutely know what they're doing. I have been in hospitality for over a decade, run and worked many weddings and events myself over the years, so when I turned up with all the questions, Megan had pretty much an identical list, so I knew we would be in safe hands. The most amazing thing we both felt about Redcoats is that despite how many weddings they have here, you feel like the only one. The level of care, attention to detail, and the excitement they have about your big day is joyous, and infectious. We never once felt like just another wedding on their schedule. Also...the FOOD! OMG the food, delicious! It's all farm to fork and you can tell. I could go on for pages and pages about this amazing place, but honestly, if you're on the fence about going down to have a look for your wedding, get off that fence and go, because it is 100% worth it. Thank so much again Redcoats for making our Wedding Day so incredibly special.
