We stayed 5 nights and had a really relaxing stay. The lodges are perfect, do clean and well thought out. They have everything and more you coukd possibly need for your stay. The decking and hot tub area is so private and relaxing. The welcone tray is very thoughtful too. The towels and bedding are luxurious and we slept very well. The staff all are helpful and very friendly and happy. Its a great location for the park and ride, supermarket and for visiting other areas. Will definitely be back!

My experience relates to Lodge 4, one of the longer-term rental lodges. I booked it because it is described as being a “high quality” lodge. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that description. At £750 per week, I expected the accommodation to be clean, safe, well maintained and consistent with the standard described. During my stay I encountered a number of cleanliness, maintenance and safety concerns that, in my view, did not justify the price. I also experienced unreliable Wi-Fi, which made working remotely far more difficult than I had expected. I raised my concerns with management by email and later in a face to face meeting, hoping we could reach a reasonable solution. Although some safety repairs were carried out, I never felt my overall concerns were truly acknowledged and I remained of the view that the overall condition of the lodge did not reflect the high quality I had been led to expect. We were ultimately unable to reach a shared understanding, and I accepted management’s offer to end my tenancy early and refund the unused rent. My advice to anyone considering one of the long-term lodges is to view the specific lodge before committing. Check that its condition, facilities and Wi-Fi meet your own needs rather than relying solely on the description. I hope South Winchester Lodges chooses to see customer feedback as an opportunity to improve rather than something to defend against. Every business receives feedback, but the way concerns are acknowledged and addressed often shapes a guest’s experience just as much as the accommodation itself. The location has great potential, and I sincerely hope future guests enjoy the experience I had hoped for.
