Had a most excellent curry here. Staying nearby and can't fault the generous welcome and the quality of food. Very dog friendly, we will be back!

We booked three double rooms for one night, bed and breakfast, at a total cost of £320. Two of the rooms incurred an additional £10 charge each because we were travelling with dogs. At over £100 per room, we expected a comfortable stay and a standard that reflected the price. Unfortunately, we were left feeling that this represented extremely poor value for money. To be fair, the two rooms in the annex were of a better standard than the room in the main building and all of the bedrooms appeared reasonably clean. However, every room had a noticeable musty smell, particularly one of the annex rooms. I couldn't tell whether this was due to the cleaning products or something else, but the odour was unpleasant and lingered throughout our stay. The room in the main building was particularly disappointing. Although I wasn't staying in that room myself, my sister and brother-in-law were, and they described it as one of the worst nights they have ever had. The mattress was so thin and uncomfortable that they said it was more like sleeping on a camp bed than a proper hotel mattress, leaving them with very little sleep. The outside areas and the dining room were also disappointing. While the bedrooms were reasonably clean, the communal areas looked tired, unkempt and poorly maintained. The hosts were friendly and welcoming when we arrived, which we appreciated. However, they left the property at around 10.00 pm and locked the bar, leaving no facilities available for guests for the rest of the evening. This wasn't something we expected when staying at a pub with accommodation. The evening meal and breakfast were both extremely disappointing. The quality of the food was poor and it felt as though corners had been cut at every opportunity. It certainly didn't reflect the price we had paid. The following morning, the atmosphere had changed completely. Rather than feeling welcomed, we were made to feel as though we were an inconvenience while breakfast was being served, which was a very disappointing end to our stay. This is actually the first negative review I have ever written. We regularly stay in pubs with accommodation and have always enjoyed good hospitality, comfortable rooms and excellent value for money. It takes a great deal for me to leave a poor review, but I genuinely feel other travellers should know what to expect. Overall, while the annex rooms were of a better standard than the room in the main building, the musty smell throughout the accommodation, the uncomfortable bed, the poor quality of the food, the neglected communal areas, the lack of evening facilities and the disappointing service at breakfast meant this was one of the worst value-for-money stays we have experienced. At £320 for three rooms, we expected a far higher standard. I genuinely take no pleasure in writing a negative review, but I also believe future guests deserve an honest account of our experience. Had this stay been half the price, we may have been more forgiving. However, at £320 for one night, the standard simply fell far short of what was promised or reasonably expected. Sadly, we would not return, nor could we recommend it to others.

Dirty,dusty room. Broken rusty soap holder and towel rail.. Dirty towels. Access dangerous due to broken rails. Room not serviced and couldn't ask for anything because hotel was supposed to be closed for a family party, which went on late into the night. It was very noisy. No evening meals or bar .Breakfast was poor because some of the guests had stayed over.. The place was kept very untidy, trip hazards etc . Outside areas very unkempt... I would avoid this place as management seems very very poor.
