Holiday Inn Hemel Hempstead M1, Jct. 8

We had a lovely star. The room was spotless and cosy but the shower didn't work room 132. The evening meal was cold but the breakfast was excellent. Derek the man who helps at breakfast is a superstar and a credit to your hotel.

I am here with my daughter for the Harry Potter trip with Caladonian Travel. (So with a coach group) the trip comes with a set meal and my daughter Hannah is Autistic and i have a tomato allergy so meal times out can always be hard and stressful. Once we entered the restaurant we was greeted by Derek and I explained our situation Derek had no issues showing and telling us was the meals were for our group, he asked the chef to join us so I could have a run down of ingredients and again nothing was too much trouble. However once we was shown what the meal was i knew Hannah wasn't going to eat it i asked the chef Mark if their was another option or one i could pay for to be told I would not be paying and what would Hannah like to eat, i couldn't believe that he was asking us like a private chef what she wanted he made her from scratch Chicken selects and skin on Fries i said I would have the same to keep it easy we was seated by Derek and was able to eat before others. I did also ask Derek if we could be seated away from other guests as Hannah won't eat if others can see her again Derek showed us the kind care and compassion and showed us to a table that wasn't over looked not only did he do that he brought us sauces and a reserved table sign and said he was going to reserve the same table for us in the morning for breakfast i asked where i could get drinks and he even offered to stay with Hannah until I returned so she wanst on her own, the service and care we have been shown in one evening at this hotel has been unprecedented and we will definatly return and anyone visiting Hemel Hempsted should also stay here all the staff from signing in to eating and getting to our rooms have been amazing and I as a mam who normally dreds eating out has had the best night due to your team i would like to say a huge and very much needed Thank you to all the team and we will definitely stay again the team are a credit to the ING wider team and they should be recognised for ther excellent service xxxx

The room was nice but the bed was a slab of cement. The comforter was too small for the bed. Derek in the dining room was absolutely fantastic. What a super person.
