Mercure London Watford

Being right in the heart of Watford, there are many amenities nearby. We went to the Harry Potter World and it wasn't too far away from there. They have a car park which is a short walk and they offer a free hot and cold drink when we went. It was clean, the room was nice and the staff were helpful.

Stayed here for 2 days as we were visiting Harry Potter studios.great location for visiting the studios.staff were very friendly and welcoming and the buffet breakfast was ok.our room again was ok although the bathroom door was rotten at the bottom and the window leaked a little.My main complaint is that it was so cold in the hotel.when we went to the bar we had to sit in our coats as it was so cold as did other guests.even had to keep our coats on in the dinning room.The poor man on reception had 2 blow heaters on to keep him warm.I’m sure in the summer it’s a great place to stay but I wouldn’t go back in the winter until the heatings fixed.

Booked months in advance. Day of booking told restaurant is closed and table booking cancelled. Arrive and go to our room, carpet coming up in hallway and filthy. Get to our room and someone had obviously been smoking in it and it was filthy. The apparent “superior double” only just fits a double bed in. Ask to change room, second room even dirtier and blind didn’t fit window. With lights directly outside so could be seen in through it. Staying at the Premier Inn instead.
