Located slightly out from Fort William town centre but easy to get to. First appearances weren’t great as from outside broken name signs and dirty paintwork makes it look rather grubby. Generally nice setting inside reception and lobby/bar area looked nice. Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Booked four poster room and was surprised it wasn’t actually a four poster bed but bed was reasonably comfortable. Room was clean and tidy and nice complimentary items. Was advertised as Mountain View and yes technically it was but not really the best view across a roof a busy road and then some large trees. Breakfast was enjoyable with a large range of options for both continental or cooked food. Staff friendly and helpful in breakfast area. I feel pictures on website are a bit misleading and probably older pictures when things looked a bit better. It does look as though they are working on doing some upgrades and maintenance as room 27 had been reviewed before and the issues that were evident in pics we didn’t see at all. Enjoyable stay but not sure I would return unless there was a general clean up of the look of the building. Didn’t use leisure facilities.

When we got to the hotel, the receptionist spoke very little english and kept avoiding eye contact with us. In adition to that the hotel itself looked as if it belonged in spain not scotland. When we got to the room there was a damp smell about it, and the bathroom was tiny. However they did have a really good pool and hot tub ( though the changing room showers aren't very powerful)

Old tired outdated damp mouldy hotel walls are falling down a so-called superior room was tiny and smelled of damp
Window wouldn't open or close when I asked for an a fan because the radiator was on fully and could not turn off I was told we don't have any bit, aldi is down the road try there. The bathroom had just been refurbished according to reception BUT water and mold above the shower, tiles chipped on floor resulting in cut foot
And no help from staff!
Reception staff were ok , however the kitchen for my evening meal was a joke. I had to return my meal twice as there was something wrong with it too cold and order wrong I had told them of food allergy but was not listened to.
I spoke to manager who was going to refund me the cost of the meal but landed up chargingng twice and no refund
To summerise this hotel is the worst not worth £160 not including the £35. For a very bad pub meal DO NOT STAY HERE
This is scotlands own faulty towers.
