Best Western Palace And Spa

To start with the positives: The location and views are outstanding. However, those features do not make up for the negatives. The bed pillows were brick hard and thin. As a result, I was in serious pain for much of the visit and I'm still dealing with neck and shoulder pain. I'd like to say our room was clean, but we returned from breakfast one morning to find the room had been serviced but a bright red earplug was put on the nightstand that was not one of ours! Obviously, it was left from a prior guest which means our room was not adequately cleaned before our arrival. The walls are thin as we woke up one morning to the sound of someone repeatedly sneezing in the next room. When I booked, I had no idea the hotel caters to large tour groups. The entire lobby was filled with people when we came back from a long day and had to fight the crowd and all their luggage just to get to the elevator. On our last morning, the line for breakfast was ridiculous. Once we finally got into the breakfast room, the noise made it impossible to have a conversation and we barely ate anything because all the food stations were too crowded. The hotel has two dining rooms. So, they should have the tour groups in a separate room. The food selection is inadequate lacking fresh vegetables and other standard items. This hotel is not a four star class hotel as it lacked the typical 4 star amenities including a room safe, a mini bar and toiletry items. The wifi seldom worked properly. Some of the staff were good, but mostly I felt like we were interrupting them from their doing something more important. When we arrived, we could see three people were sitting in the office while only one desk staff person was trying to check in multiple people. I don't like seeing managers who aren't willing to pitch in when needed. Bad first impressions are hard to overcome.

Had a wonderful message with Ma at the spa she was very caring and listened to what I wanted. Had very good hands and worked all the knots out of my neck and back. Lovely spa

Good location, but very expensive. Facilities were average, and the staff weren’t very friendly. Overall, an okay stay.
