Golf View Hotel & Spa

Stayed here for a couple of days and it’s a little mixed. Some staff are great but some you do feel like you’re putting them out. A couple of nice staff at breakfast but some of them make you feel a little in the way like you’re putting them out. Spa is lovely and the best part of the hotel. Room was ok if a little tiered. No lift working which was a pain when you’re on the 3rd floor with lots of luggage. Great location though and amazing view.

Myself and my partner stated here for a one night stay. I had a facial in the spa and we used the leisure spa and thermal suite facilities. Pros Lovely big room, with a large bed. First impressions walking into out room was great. The tea tray was very well stocked. Generally no complaints with the room. Bar staff in the afternoon/evening were great and made delicious cocktails. Lovely view from the bar/resturant areas too. Location is great for access to the beach and views The facial I had in the spa was great. The staff I encountered in the spa were great and were working hard Cons My appointment for my facial was moved back 15 minutes but I was never contacted to be made aware of this/ask if that was ok. As a result result I ended up waiting around for my appointment for 30 mins. not a relaxing start to my treatment. The treatment I recieved was great and the member of staff was very good but the room it took place in was absolutely freezing. Again not very relaxing. We paid an extra £30 per head for the thermal experience in the spa. This was an absolute rip off. Do not do it. All you get is access to a salt room which is just a room with loungers that are falling apart. And a room thats a cross between a sauna and a steam room but is operated by a mechanical arm that makes so much noise. not relaxing at all. Plus a relaxation room which had a couple bits of left over fruit in it, and a urn of boiling water to make tea which was nearly empty, clearly not been replenished for a while. This 'relaxation' room was also cold. The outdoor hot tub was very dirty, not that hot, and alot of the jets had a mind of their own (suspect they are blocked with limescale). We had a better hot tub experience in a fairly basic glamping pod the prior night, and this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. The breakfast room was filled with dirty plates that no one seemed to be clearing away. The breakfast staff were a little rude and the continental breakfast wasnt being restocked. When my hot breakfast was delivered half of it was missing. When we asked where the rest of it was we had little apology for their mistake. The table next to us requested poached eggs on toast for their breakfast, which isnt on the menu. The waitress seemed very confused by this request and said she needed to check with her manager. Crazy for such basic request. The lift was broken. We are two able bodies persons but even for us carrying the luggage upstairs was hard work. When we went to breakfast there was an older lady struggling to get down the stairs. Im sure that wasnt how she imagined spending her holiday. Other reviews suggests the lift has been broke since Feb! That is not acceptable. The hotel has so much character and potential and some really great members of staff they just need a few tweaks and maybe some additional training for the staff who are not currently providing a good service and then this place could be amazing.

A warm welcome when we arrived and even though we were early our sea view room was available. Plenty of parking and great views with access to the beach which was ideal for walking our dog. Our room was comfortable and really appreciated the welcome guide detailing walks. Staff were all helpful and friendly. The food was excellent with a good choice and the cooked breakfast was really good. There is a swimming pool and spa but unfortunately did not get time to use as only there one night. Will return for a longer break next time.
