LEANACH FARM B&B

We stayed at Roseanne MacKay's home for a night in mid-June. Both my wife and I agree it was our favorite stay based on the total experience of witnessing dog shepherding, enjoying the farm life, seeing the nearby Clava Cairns, a 4000 year old pre-historic mini-Stonehenge and the hospitality of Roseanne. The rooms were well organized and very clean, which is our top priority. They are a bit small at just over 100 sq ft, but that seems quite typical in Scotland. All our needs were attended to. We have stayed at several other B&Bs on our multi-week UK trip and this has been the best.

We did not stay here, but booked the sheepdog experience. It was one of our favorite activities of the trip. In addition the the dogs, we got to see some Highland Coos up and hear the history of the farm and family.

Excellent experience. Within walking distance of the Culloden Battlefield and visitor center. Our hosts were welcoming. Generous designated parking. The rooms were everything we had hoped for. Breakfasts were delicious. The Battlefield Bar and Restaurant and Clava Cairns were a short walk away. If we travel to the area again this working farm would be a priority for accommodations. We would recommend the sheep dog demonstration. Also, this may be your best opportunity for photos with their highland cattle.
