Newton Hotel ‘A Bespoke Hotel’

Beautiful building, but inconvenient as a hotel. We got an upgrade to a suite, but the room was already 35 m2. Excellent shower and beautiful view. The crease in the carpet is a bit less, and certainly the dirty carpet in the hall to the suite. The breakfast was economical, the basic necessities were there, but all the hot food and toast were brought to order.

The fourth accommodation on our trip to Scotland was unfortunately the worst. Very nicely situated, just a walk away from the beach, it was impressive from the outside at first glance. But as soon as you approached the reception, you could tell that it had long since seen its best days, despite the friendly receptionist. The room, located next to the suite named after a great comedian from the 30s, had certainly served as his servant's quarters and had not been used since. The second room we were assigned after our complaint was larger and the bathroom was okay, but the furniture was completely worn out, which, however, did not apply to the good bed. A drink at the bar to recover from the shock - that eased the great disappointment a little. Breakfast was no improvement either, for which the friendly and hardworking staff was not to blame, however. Conclusion: hardly any "value for money," which can significantly dampen the mood given the generally high Scottish price level.

Beautiful hotel, very slow check-in. The room assigned was in a building outside the hotel. Large room, clean but certainly dated and rather damp. We tried to book tea but it was denied to us as reservations were full. The interior of the hotel is very beautiful. Breakfast must be requested from the staff. Furthermore, there is no possibility of having a cappuccino. Upon request, hot milk is brought, to which I added instant coffee. What can I say, enchanting but old.
