The Ryedale

Hayley and John, the proprietors, are an amazing couple and experts in their field! Nothing is too much trouble, and effortlessly make you feel welcome. Ryedale is a beautifully maintained house, bright and sunny and super clean (my first priority). Food comes a close second and John's breakfasts do not disappoint, with lots of variety, hot and cold. Wonderful! Thoroughly spoilt by Hayley and her attentiveness to detail, at breakfast and in the beautifully designed rooms. Some superb walks, a stones throw away, along the coastal paths and a lovely beach to relax when the weather's permitting. A great way to walk off a Ryedale breakfast! Lovely comfy bed, along with the sea air, made for a wonderful night's sleep. Nothing not to like about this place. We will definitely return, as we found the whole experience super smooth. No passport control or long traffic queues and a super slick ferry service (booked with John). Great team work and a quick shout out to Lauren, who completed the team! Thank you all for a lovely stay.

Sorry this bit late, but finally got round to it ! We, along with our besties, stayed for 2 nights at the Ryedale at the end August. Arrived late on Friday evening - cancelled ferry ! - John was a very welcoming host - met Hayley at breakfast - he showed us to our rooms and let us settle in. Nice touch with the little extra's - but you'll have to stay there to find out what they are :) A good nights' sleep, was followed by a very filling breakfast indeed. Although the weather wasn't the best, we did make the best of it while we were there. Big bonus was the free parking at the station not even 2 minutes up the road from the Ryedale. An excellent stay, thanks Hayley & John.

Our stay was amazing. John and Hayley have it spot on. The rooms are cosy with loads of little extras to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast is first class. Beautifully cooked by John and served by Hayley. Loads of choice. Both are available to chat and offer suggestions for sightseeing but then leave you to get on with your day. Parking all sorted at the station 2 mins walk away. Would highly recommend a stay here.
