Runnymede Court Hotel

We recently spent 3 nights at Runnymede Court and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, The Manager and her staff were friendly and very helpful. Our ensuite room was quiet and faced the hotel's rear garden, there was very little traffic noise. Bedroom and bathroom were spotless, shower pressure was good and beds were comfortable - we slept very well. There was ample space in our bedroom for anyone working away from home to be comfortable, Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice - my partner's cooked breakfast was declared 'Very good'. The Runnymede's location was ideal for us - just a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the sandy beach and pier, and 8 minutes walk to St Helier town centre with it's attractive traditional market, restaurants and bus station. The lovely Howard Park and cafe is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Public transport was good, there are several bus stops within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. Some buses running on the sea front near the Runnymede go to the ancient Mont Orgueil Castle, just 15 minutes away. Fascinating history and highly recommended if you don't mind some stone stair case climbing. Our boat home left in the evening so we very much appreciated being able to store our luggage at The Runnymede whilst we enjoyed our last day. We're planning our next visit......

We were 3 adults travelling on a short break. Hotel is a 10 min walk from St Helier, 5 mins to a beach. Near bus stop. The staff are friendly, and do ask if there anything you would like. The food is very good, excellent breakfast. If you would like evening meal, you have to let then know by 5pm. The choice on the menu is very good, I had roast Lamb one evening. It was excellent. The room was spacious, ok it needs a coat of paint, however it was clean. The shower although hot, water pressure was not good. We were at the front of the hotel, it was quite noisy with traffic and people passing the hotel at night. It looks like its on a quiet road but it isnt. We enjoyed our stay here, after a day out a nice pre dinner drink in the bar before dinner was welcome. Thankyou all.

I do not understand the positive reviews. The proximity to the city center and the beach is good. The room was clean. It was also extremely noisy; the neighbors and the elevator were very audible. Neon lights, red plush carpet - not my taste. Water pressure leaves much to be desired. They also have the traditional English faucets. The staff seemed a bit awkward. I would not return.
