We stayed here for a week at the end of June/beginning of July and loved every second of our stay. From the moment we checked in until the moment we reluctantly left, everything was wonderful. A cold glass of fruit infused water was so welcome on our arrival and everything was explained to us, we were given so much help and information right from the off. The public areas are really comfortable and well decorated. Our room was just lovely- well decorated with everything we could possibly need. The bed was so comfortable, we slept so well throughout the week. It was so quiet in our room. The fridge with a bottle of water was so handy to have, and the kettle and all you needed for tea, coffee or hot chocolate. And biscuits! We didn’t book a room with a view but it didn’t matter as there are beautiful views from the breakfast room, Champagne Bar, lounge and terrace bar. The terrace bar was closed for a private event while we were there which shows the popularity with the local people and I’m not surprised, the care taken by the staff to set everything up- and the food- looked amazing! The toiletries in the bathroom are high quality and lovely to use. There are lots of little touches like the amenity kits. The housekeeping service was impeccable. Everything was of the best quality- the bathroom towels, proper wooden hangers in the wardrobe, a decent hairdryer. The breakfast was one of my favourite parts of the day. There is a buffet but also an à la carte menu at no extra charge. There is a chef’s special dish every day and a smoothie of the day too! The choice is immense and once again there is that quality. The coffee was the best we’ve had in a hotel (we take our own now and ask for hot water) but our coffee stayed firmly in the suitcase all week. As did my shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion as the hotel’s is so good.
The spa and indoor pool is so inviting, we had a look but didn’t use it this time. The gym is really well equipped. The function rooms downstairs look lovely for any occasion, business or pleasure. Everywhere is spotless.
The location of the hotel is fantastic. There is a Morrison’s supermarket in the garage behind the hotel and no matter which way you walk it doesn’t take long to get to the middle of town. The airport bus stops outside. There is a lovely park across the road where we sat for our final half hour when we were in denial about going home!
The staff are wonderful. Leanne at breakfast is so friendly and a chat with her improves your day! Paul the concierge is so pleasant and helpful. In fact everyone was great, I didn’t get all their names.
If you want a beautiful elegant hotel in the best location with the best staff don’t hesitate to stay here. We could not have asked for a better stay and we’d definitely return.

The hotel is situated on the seafront with lovely views over looking the bay and a lovely castle, Elizabeth Castle. When we arrived the atmosphere in the hotel was very calm, we were greeted with smiles and a very professional attitude. The room was spotless and very well equipped, there was even fresh milk in the fridge instead of the usual UHT milk that I hate. The room was also air conditioned which was a blessing as the temperatures were high. The staff were amazing, everyone of them had a smile on their faces and a lovely greeting, it made the stay joyous. The is a lovely outside seating area with a bar which was lovely to sit in after a long day sight seeing. Breakfast was an array of different food with several different breakfasts on a menu if you didn’t want the buffet. We had one evening meal there and the food was delicious. I didn’t use the spa but my brother and sister in law did, they really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked a superior sea view and were broadly happy, though I wouldn’t say this is a 5 star hotel (I’m not really convinced such a thing exists in Jersey).
The positives are the location right in the heart of St Helier, the staff who are incredibly friendly and attentive, the excellent breakfast (generous buffet but also dishes cooked to order), the superb treatments in the spa, the comfortable bed, and excellent housekeeping staff.
Where it’s less positive is the “superior” room had some serious decor issues. The paintwork was badly chipped in places and the curtains were severely frayed with the lining shredded at the back. The balcony had some tatty chairs and no table, no effort to make it a pleasurable space. The bathroom was extremely tight and the shower was so narrow (over the bath), that only a slim person can really enjoy it.
The terrace was booked out most nights we were there which is annoying if part of the attraction of the place is to have a drink outside overlooking the sea. But they offered half price drinks on those evenings in the champagne bar (champagne was fully priced!). I found it a bit discomforting that there were so many flies buzzing about the dining room and champagne bar.
The dapper general manager was very present about the place and looks like he runs a tight ship. I suspect that he wishes there was budget to smarten the place up. If they could do that, it would have the potential to be fully 5 star.
