Terrible slow service. Be careful of the added 10% service charge on your bar service. Ask them to remove it and lastly the parking. I minute over and you are fined no grace period and no common sense applied to loyal customers

This is a terrible place to stay. I paid for a family suite, which was not a cheap stay, and the room is directly above their function room where there is a noisy wedding party, with a particularly rubbish disco. There is no air conditioning, so I have the choice of not sleeping due to the room being too hot as I’ve had to close the window in a futile attempt to drown out the abysmal music. Alternatively, I can not sleep due to being forced to keep the window open to try to keep the room cool, but then being kept awake by a noisy wedding party which has, in case I haven’t already mentioned it, particularly dire music. This is a huge hotel, I’m pretty sore if someone had engaged their brain they could have anticipated that people not attending the awful wedding disco might prefer to be as far away as possible from the noise of this particularly dismal musical experience. At supper time we went to eat at the restaurant and were told that even though we were residents, we couldn’t have a table as we hadn’t pre-booked, but we could eat from the very same menu in the bar. This I would understand if the restaurant was full or busy, but it wasn’t. The particularly unwelcoming waitress on the door looked as though she really couldn’t be bothered. She was probably in a bad mood from being forced to listen to the particularly awful wedding disco all evening. So we resorted to room service. The food was unremarkable, and they forgot to bring our drinks. When we rang them to remind them we were told they’d run out of water. Yes, water. Oh, and to top it all you have to pay extra for the pleasure of parking in their car park. The whole experience has been one big disappointment. Avoid.

We have just returned from a few days with a coach tour. Upon arrival the place from outside looks good. On entering, the place looks tired in places. The staff are friendly and reception is very helpful . The room we had could not complain although can not bee said for some other rooms . The bed is rather on the soft side but hey it was compfortable. The hotel does not have air con and can be very hot specially in the last few days with temps over 34c. The dining room was specially hot with two coach parties in. The normal thing to do with out asking would be to have fans in the room but on the Monady night I had to ask if fans could be sorted. So many excuses where made like we are not a aircon hotel. My son nearly passed out with the heat and noise going on and there was one fan postioned for there better clients but when it came to the older ones on the coaches until I made a stink nothing was done. Must have had some effect beacuse on Tuesday night fans where supplied , but you shouldnt have to make such a fuss. To have a hotel with know aircon in this day and age is just going backwards. Now the food very very average. The breakfast in the morning was fine although some effort could have been made to make it more injteresting. Evening meals where hit and miss. The starters and deserts on the whole where OK but mains where so hit and miss, more miss than hits. The drinks hwere exspensive and to have 10% service charge added on automatically made then m ore pricey. Therer is a small notice on the bar saying you can have it removed which we did but the kind smile from the barmaid went to a scowel. Because of this we never bought another drink. We made dew with plain water. This is England and not America, I beleive in awarding for good service not for just pouring the odd drink, which takes know effort.
