I recently stayed at the Royal Norfolk Hotel in Sandgate and honestly couldn’t fault it. The hotel has a traditional, old-world charm, but it’s maintained to a very high standard. Everywhere was spotless, and you can tell the owners really take pride in the place. The food was a real highlight of the stay. The menu has something for everyone, and the quality was excellent. The steak was absolutely unbelievable — perfectly cooked and very reasonably priced for what you get. The bar is also well stocked with all your favourite drinks, making it a great place to relax in the evening. Our room was spacious with plenty of room to move around, and the bed was incredibly comfortable — we slept very well throughout the stay. It’s the kind of place you could happily stay for a week or longer without feeling cramped. The owners are genuinely lovely people — welcoming, friendly, and very family-orientated. They create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel at home straight away. There’s also plenty to do in the surrounding area if you enjoy walking, and Folkestone is only about a 10-minute drive away if you want a bit more to explore. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly. A great combination of comfort, quality food, and genuine hospitality.
