The Clarendon Royal Hotel

I will be honest and say i booked this restaurant by mistake, found out Sunday where it was and as it was last minute and a few of us, kept the reservation... it was the best mistake I have made! 9 of us of varying ages went for an early dinner, most had 3 courses, every meal was finished. Staff was great, very welcoming and chatty without feeling intrusive. We will be returning for the sunday lunch.

Stopped off while on a dog walk in the area - the bar is dog friendly and the spacious beer garden at the front had lovely views of the river. Staff friendly. 2 halves of lager cost £6.

Met a friend for a late lunch at the Clarendon Bar. The food was fab!. We also had some lovely cocktails which I'd recommend trying! I think the bar is now under new management but I do hope it will become a new and classy place to eat. (I feel this has potential) However, I do hope they ditch the artificial flowers ... they are just dust collectors and not attractive. I hope they do well... x
