Premier Inn Colchester (Cowdray Avenue)

Stayed here for a couple of nights on a business training course. Staff was very friendly and polite. Denise in particular was lovely to speak with. Her hospitality was fantastic! A true gem... I hope she gets the recognition for providing great service and a true credit to the team.

Went for all you can eat breakfast only. Didn’t want to eat what we had. Food was barely cooked and very little choice. I guess it’s because it closing down soon but horrible horrible food

Room and en-suite were good - size, condition etc. What was disappointing was the restaurant - an adjoining 'pub'. I walked over for an evening meal and stood at the "wait here" desk for a couple of minutes before giving up. There were 3 or 4 other guests (solo or couples) sitting sadly at empty tables - no music - no atmosphere - so I went to a local supermarket and eat in the room with the TV. Could face a repeat in the morning so had my breakfast at McDonalds, even though I'd paid in advance. I would come back here again - just would not plan to eat there.
