Calypso Hotel

We stayed at this hotel for a week and loved it here. The room was enough for us and the staff are very friendly and really helpful. I'm disabled and struggled with the stairs but asked if they could help me with getting up them. Booked to come back next year for 10 days. It's right in the centre next coral island so was good for me not being too far from the centre.

Room was nothing like in the pictures on booking .com bathroom was dirty and towel rail came off the wall. We stayed for two nights defiantly not worth the money. Breakfast was lovely and waitresses lovely. We reported the towel rail nothing was done

Absolutely disgusting dirty hotel . We asked for a room with little amount of stairs so we were told our room was on the second floor! Well there was still about 36 stairs to climb and apparently there was a stair lift if needed ( don’t think it worked anyway) Got to our room it was tiny and absolutely filthy the bathroom and shower we’re disgusting and don’t think they had seen a proper clean in years . There was a dressing table thing that was thick with dust and the mirror on it was thick with dust and hand marks all over it there was a tv you could hardly see through ( never tried it ) the lounge bar was dark dismal and uninviting and had what look like a resident down n out person sitting in it constantly he had the same clothes on each day/night and sat on the same seat all the time we were there. We paid £166 for 3 nights and actually only slept in it we chose to stay out all day and most of the evening so we didn’t have to spend time in it . And they had the cheek to take a £20 cash deposit on check in as damage deposit which we got back on check out !!!!! How would they actually know if anything was damaged because it was in such a mess when we went in . Only good thing going for it was the location. We were never so glad when our stay was up and we then moved to a really spotless clean hotel near the south pier .
