Hotel Athol

Hotel is not like the photos you see, very run down and dated. Website states no hen/stag parties yet we were kept up all night by a large group of stags! The front door was propped open through the evening making us feel very uneasy. One of the rooms we had needed a good clean, carpet had what looked like food stuck in it. After the trip I contacted the owner, who was very rude and non accommodating. Not the behaviour youd expect from a manager!

What a horrible place to stay. But we didn’t get the chance to stay. We booked our room and went to the hotel to then be told after waiting 30 minutes to book in that we couldn’t book in because they’ve double booked our room and have no room for us. £177 on booking.com There was no atmosphere at all. One guy stood behind the bar who couldn’t help. My partner asked for a pint of larger and got given a can. What a state. My partner went to the bathroom whilst waiting to book in and what a state he found. Absolutely disgusting place. Would definitely avoid at all costs

very moderate hotel Stayed for 3 days in room 16 very small and a double room 18 both on the ground floor.No wi-fi connection. Televisions were not tuned in so no television for our 3 day stay. Mattresses in need of replacement. W,C in room 18 very hard to flush. Bar rarely opened unless requested. Yale number entry to door. one outside door not working. Sad to say a hotel going downhill quickly
