Stayed 1 night in the Presidential Suite. This is a historic old hotel and was once very grand but sadly no more. Everything is tired and worn. It advertises Free WiFi as indeed it has. Let’s see you find the password, it’s not published or made available. Eventually a passing member of staff helped with that. Presidential Suite? No life in the room, empty and cold. Coffee machine didn’t work. We’ll take it away then, don’t have expecting coffee when there is none! TV remote in bedroom doesn’t work & it’s not the batteries. Tiny fridge supplied on floor wet and leaking. Honestly a night in a premier inn would give a better element of luxury. No complaints about the staff, all pleasant and helpful. Breakfast just standard buffet quality. A very underwhelming stay.

Stayed in room 326 , four night stay ,would I visit again absolutely not !!!! We paid for sea view room , windows extremely dirty , carpet badly worn in the room .the housekeeping standard has fallen ,it was just a grubby room ,the bathroom needs a good deep clean . We have stayed here at least five times NEVER AGAIN .

The hotel must have been wonderful in its heyday, alas that is in the past. On arrival, there was one over-worked person on check-in. at peak check-in time, more should have been there as they were busy. The room was fine, we had the Tower Suite and it was nice to go upstairs for the bedroom, however, the bathroom could do with freshening up. Breakfast was reasonable apart from the fact that they let dogs in the restaurant - I understand that people want to take their pets away with them, but I personally do not think the restaurant is an appropriate place for them. We had a reasonable meal in the restaurant on the Friday night. Over the weekend, we asked housekeeping if they would service the room after 2pm each day as we would not be leaving the hotel until that time - this was carried out without fuss and we came back to a clean room each day. The room service was reasonable (pizza or sandwiches are the limited choice at the time we had to eat and they were good quality and delivered promptly). Checkout was efficient, as everything was paid on arrival, there was nothing to do apart from drop the keys. Parking can be an issue depending on when you arrive, there are plenty of spaces, however, if the hotel is full, it can sometimes be difficult to find a space. If we are to return, they would need to reconsider their pet policy for the restaurant.
