The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Derby, with no local facilities such as restaurants within easy reach, thus one is a captive.
On arrival at the hotel, the welcome was at best perfunctory, and the fact that I had accidentally booked for one person not two not very well handled. The room itself was a good size, but the room curtain was badly torn and should have been replaced. The shower screen over the bath did not fit, meaning water flooded the floor and the wash basin was badly cracked. The room lighting was poor and the bed side lights useless - we had to use torches to read by.
The restaurant menu and food were at best "average" and service perfunctory.
The cost of our one night stay was "full" for what we got.
Throughout our stay, we did not feel "Welcome" and the room we were allocated desperately needed attention. We won't be staying again.
