Summerville Guesthouse

Have never seen so much dirt in the 2 bedrooms we stayed in would avoid staying there. We couldn’t use the bannister as it was covered in dirt and grime. The ceiling above my grandson's bed was damp and ready to collapse. The shower was unusable carpet was frayed the sink in the room was still dirty from the last guests soap left on sink from god knows when as you can see from photos would avoid this hotel like the plague.

Disgusting place! The smell upon entering the building was unpleasant, the decor and furnishings half heartedly done in the cheapest possible way. Upon entry to my room, I found toe nail clippings and crumbs on the carpet, the sink was filthy, toothpaste on the carpet and the toothbrush holder was stomach churning. The communal shower and toilet were filthy. This place has not been cleaned for some time. I left within five minutes and felt like I needed a soak in bleach.

I have never encountered the like of this before. To be fair, the bedcovers and towels were clean, and the room was tidy, but the wash basin had an slimy organic film on it that I had to scrub off before using the basin (the toilet was communal and outside of the room and up a flight of stairs, so it doesn't take much imagination to work out what this organic matter came from). But the worst part was what was under the soap. The soap-holder looked like it hadn't been washed for months, if not years. A dangerous-looking ecosystem appeared to have developed there. I have never seen anything like it in my life before. I'm going to see if I can attach a photo of it here. And someone had emptied the contents of his nose in the communal shower. When I tried to wash it away with the shower hose it wouldn't budge - it was solid. So, this had also been here for a long time. Only stay at this place if you have a very strong stomach.
