The Bona Vista - Guest House

The Bona Vista as we knew it for nearly 20 years is no more. The buliders are in and a new life, possibly as two residences now beckons. I passed by at the weekend. I just want to pass on the very warmest of wishes to Geoff, Sandra and Steven for several wonderful years and the very happiest of memories. May they have a long and healthy retirement. Sandra was amazing and we'll miss her warmth and anecdotes as well as her cooking, portion sizes and simply homely hospitality at it's best. Been lucky to stay at some great, even iconic Hotels but the Bona Vista was always the place to put a smile on my face. Sadly missed.

What has happened loved this place but booking been cancelled Just had an email today feeling so sad hope that people who had it are ok they were lovely Does anyone know if it will be up and running again we felt it was the perfect location for our family and they were so lovely

This was our 5th visit to the Bona. On arrival we were saddened and shocked to find out that our friends Sandra and Geoff had sold up and retired. However....the new owners are keeping up the high standards that they both set. Room 2 was as usual....lovely...nicely cleaned. The only major change we found was the breakfast is now buffet style....I liked that! Will certainly go back...no question. The only disappointment personally was that it was our Ruby Wedding on the Sunday and I'd ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife as a surprise and they somehow despite 2 reminders.....forgot. Recommended hotel though.
