Thornhill Hotel

If Blackpool had a “comfort capital,” it would be the Thornhill Hotel, run by the absolute legends Adam & Dave the kind of hosts who make you feel so welcome you’ll start wondering if you actually live there now. We had a good laugh with them, which made our stay feel even more like visiting friends rather than a hotel. Just 200 metres from the Promenade, this place has prime location energy. Close enough to hear the seaside chaos, far enough that you can still sleep without dreaming of slot machines screaming your name. The rooms? Cute, cosy, and stocked with all the essentials: flat-screen TV, tea and coffee because life demands it, complimentary toiletries, and bottles of water a lovely touch that made us feel instantly looked after (hydration is key, folks). Now let’s talk breakfast, because WOW. Every morning we were served a full English so good it deserves its own Tripadvisor category. Perfectly cooked, piled high, and guaranteed to keep you full until at least 4pm. They catered for us like pros no fuss, just food. The good stuff. We stayed six nights, and honestly? We didn’t want to leave. It’s impossible to be miserable when you start every day with a feast, a smile from Adam or Dave, and a handy bottle of water for the walk to your next adventure. Location-wise, Thornhill hits that sweet spot: ⭐ 20 minutes to the Tower (if you’re feeling athletic) ⭐ 10 minutes to Central Pier (for the arcades where time and coins disappear) ⭐ 20 minutes to Pleasure Beach along the seafront (we walked… but also grabbed a tram because we could) Inside, the hotel is sprinkled with music memorabilia on the walls, and we LOVED it. Guitars, posters, the retro icons all the good stuff. We spent way too long pointing at things and going, “Ooh, look at that!” It’s a whole vibe. Add in free Wi-Fi, limited onsite parking (like winning the Blackpool lottery), and a warm, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the furniture — the comfy furniture — and you’ve got yourself a cracking stay. And here’s the kicker: the Thornhill Hotel doesn’t close at the end of the Blackpool season. So even when the crowds thin out and the piers start to get quiet, you’ve still got a home base, a full English, and Adam & Dave keeping the lights on. Thornhill Hotel isn’t just somewhere to sleep. It’s a place where you’re fed, welcomed, hydrated, entertained, and gently encouraged to have an absolutely brilliant time all year round. Adam & Dave, you nailed it. We’ll be back probably hungry, definitely hydrated, and ready for another laugh.

Our 3rd visit here, Adam and Dave are fantastic hosts, breakfast is amazing. Great homely hotel near to front, can’t go wrong.👍
