A fantastic venue and a brilliant team made our wedding day complete.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best day of our lives We honestly don’t know where to start with this review because there is so much we could say about The City Rooms and the people who made our wedding so special. We had the most incredible day and genuinely could not have asked for more. But firstly, Rachel. What an absolute star ❤️ We lost count of how many people came up to us during the wedding and afterwards to tell us how amazing she was. “She’s lovely”, “she’s phenomenal”, “she’s something else”, “your wedding coordinator is amazing”. We even had people who had recently had their own weddings telling us how lucky we were and how their coordinator was nothing like Rachel. And that was just what everyone else saw. For us, Rachel wasn’t just our wedding coordinator. By the end of everything, she genuinely felt like a friend. Someone we completely trusted and someone who could somehow make us feel calm when everything around us was so busy. One thing that really stood out was just how incredibly organised and detailed she was. Before the wedding, Rachel made sure we had a full itinerary planned out, literally down to the minute. She put together a master document covering everything for the day and made sure everyone knew exactly what was happening and when. Then on the actual day she somehow kept us constantly on track without ever making us feel like we were being rushed. That is honestly such a skill! There was always a smile, always reassurance and never any sense of panic. We could be enjoying a moment and Rachel would gently appear at exactly the right time to let us know what was happening next. We never felt like we were watching the clock or worrying about the schedule. She took that pressure completely away from us. And then there were all the little things that had absolutely nothing to do with an itinerary. While we were getting ready, Rachel was checking on us, getting us drinks and even making sure we had food. With everything going on, it would have been so easy for us to forget to eat or drink, but she was thinking about things like that when we weren’t. During the reception we realised we needed an inhaler. Rachel actually went and got it for us herself so that nobody else had to leave the reception or miss part of the celebrations. That moment probably sums her up better than anything we could write. She had hundreds of things to manage, yet instead of asking a family member or friend to go, she just sorted it. She wanted everyone else to be able to carry on enjoying the wedding. Our families were going backwards and forwards to her throughout the day too. My mum even commented afterwards that despite how many times she went up to Rachel, she never once seemed annoyed or frustrated. Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. There are probably countless things Rachel did behind the scenes that we’ll never even know about. That’s what is so amazing. She seemed to be everywhere at once, but was always calm, always smiling and always making sure we were okay. She didn’t just coordinate our wedding. She genuinely looked after us. And because of that, we were able to actually be present and enjoy our wedding rather than worrying about what was happening next or what needed sorting out. We also want to mention how lovely all of the staff at The City Rooms were. Everyone we came across was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The venue manager was also incredibly kind to us. There was just a feeling throughout the day that the whole team genuinely wanted everything to go well for us. And we absolutely have to mention the food! We had so many people compliment it afterwards. One of our guests actually messaged us to say it was the best wedding food they had ever had and admitted they’d had a double portion 😂 The special children’s menu was another lovely touch. The parents really appreciated that the kids had been thought about and catered for separately, although one of them apparently decided the bhel was better anyway 😂 The City Rooms itself is absolutely beautiful, but when we think back to our wedding, what really stays with us is how we were made to feel. When you spend so long planning a wedding, you worry about every tiny detail. You wonder whether everything is going to come together, whether you’ll be running late, whether people will know where they’re supposed to be and whether you’ll actually get a chance to enjoy it yourselves. On our wedding day, we didn’t have to worry about any of that. Rachel had it. Rachel, we genuinely don’t think we can put into words how grateful we are for everything you did for us. From the huge amount of planning and attention to detail beforehand, to keeping an entire wedding running to the minute, to something as simple as bringing us a drink or going to get an inhaler. Those things mattered to us. You went so far above and beyond what we ever imagined a wedding coordinator would do, and we will never forget it. We honestly cannot thank Georgie enough for everything she did for us throughout our wedding journey. From the very beginning, she was so friendly, approachable and genuinely invested in making our day everything we had dreamed of. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Georgie always made us feel at ease. She was there whenever we needed her, nothing was ever too much trouble, and she always had a way of making things feel that little bit easier. What meant the most was knowing how much she genuinely cared. She took the time to understand what was important to us and put so much thought and heart into helping make our day special. On the wedding day itself, Georgie was amazing. She took care of everything behind the scenes, meaning we could completely relax and enjoy every moment with our family and friends without worrying about the little things. We feel so lucky to have had Georgie as part of such a special time in our lives. She truly went above and beyond, and we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding coordinator. Thank you for everything, Georgie. We will always be so grateful for everything you did for us and the part you played in making our wedding day so special
