We stayed a night here at a very cheap rate so in one respect it’s good value for money. The location is great right next to Rutland water However the room was extremely tired and run down. It felt like a room from the 90s and it smelt damp. The reception staff were not particularly welcoming either. The breakfast was very basic and we had to wait ages for items to be replaced It’s good for the price but it’s a tired looking hotel

Wonderful hotel with our bedroom patio doors overlooking the lake. Lovely size room. Staff were so friendly. Young lad started the day we arrived and he was great. Alas, we didn’t get his name but he was friendly, efficient & so nice. Even though given 5 stars, my husband gutted no draughty Guinness! We will be going back. Amazing place.

We recently went to the Normanton Park Hotel for afternoon tea and it was a very disappointing experience. I was surprised at times available for afternoon tea, 12 mid-day until 3pm, far too early and there should have been an option of much later in the afternoon. 4pm for tea has always been a perfect time!! Normanton Park Hotel has clearly seen better days and my thoughts were it’s looking very tired in many areas. For our ‘Afternoon Tea Experience’ we were seated in a very small dull side room away from the Conservatory with virtually no view over the grounds or reservoir … no plants or flowers made us feel so unwelcome so we hastily rushed tea and went home as soon as possible. As to our tea .. piping hot strong tea did get a thumbs up as did the selection of well presented sandwiches but such a poor selection of small cakes. We certainly won’t return which is disappointing as we had hoped to discover a venue on the shores of Rutland Water that did excellent afternoon teas …
