Best Western Three Swans

The hotel has a monopoly locally and as a result seems to not be particularly bothered about guest experience. It's not particularly cheap to eat or stay here but the experience certainly doesn't match the price. Parking is good with free guest parking. The pub grounds are attractive and welcoming. It's clearly very popular with it's central location but service is poor. It was difficult to find a waiter when we wanted to pay, and when we did, she said she would get the bill and promptly forgot all about us! Our room was styled in a traditional manner which was nice but generally the room was tired, with peeling wallpaper, dirty blinds at the window with dead insects on it, grubby carpet and a disgusting shower curtain. The cleaning left a lot to be desired - the toilet had poo in it, the bath had hairs in it and the sink was dirty. When I tried to contact reception there was no answer so I left a message which wasn't responded to so eventually I called back. I was told housekeeping had gone home but someone would come up. A maintenance person did come and wipe the bath, but no general clean of the bathroom. We were at the front of the hotel which doesn't have even secondary double glazing so the noise from the pub across the road kept me awake most of the night. I feel that this hotel could do so much better and unfortunately I can't recommend anyone to stay here.

So enjoyed our stay here. Floral displays were outstanding. Liked our ground floor room close to the courtyard. The weather was very hot but there was a constant supply of iced water in a container in the courtyard. Breakfast buffet was fine and there was a poster up offering an alternative menu for residents which had more choices on. Breakfast was served in the dining room upstairs which was richly decorated and had wonderful Queen Anne type comfortable chairs combined with lower back chairs. Easy access walk straight out into the town with lovely wide pavements and excellent shops. Hope I get the chance to come and stay here again.

What a beautiful place, had our wedding reception there. Location is amazing.. Staff are so fantastic, and nothing to much trouble.. Setting was perfect for us... The food was out of this world, so fresh and tasty.. We would highly recommend this hotel for any event... Thanks to everyone
