Best Western White Hart

Very comfortable overnight stay in this well located hotel. Very good evening meal and breakfast. Bedroom comfortably cool in this very hot summer.

Great place, location and friendly staff

It is a pleasant hotel with some nice features but a little grubby in places. Lacks a bit of TLC. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout the stay. We ate in the restaurant one evening and enjoyed the food. The reception desk made of old travel trunks looked great but did make the reception smell a bit musty so maybe some plug in fragrances might help. The bar closed at 9:30 on a Sunday even for guests which was a bit strange, possibly for the England football match so fair enough. Didn't have a great sleep the first night even though the bed was big and comfortable due to outside noise from elsewhere, several loud bangs during the night (firework/sonic boom/ or fighting the Spanish armada - not sure) this then startled the seagulls into a frenzy. Finally when things got quiet, the beer barrels started being rolled somewhere and I could hear shuffling along the corridor. Not sure if the place is haunted. There is a great view from the front garden and I liked the coffee shop idea with a big drink menu and lots of cakes. Some really nice features here but the cleanliness particularly inside the shower could be better. The staff are great and work very hard to care for their guests.
