Holiday Inn Express Lincoln City Center

Two lads from 418. Landlord booked as home renovated and nowhere to stay. Staff went above and beyond and nothing too much trouble. Made a rubbish week into a pleasure , would go as far as to say will never book another brand hotel again. Booking again soon and family booking too. Every staff member was an angel. Not a single bad thing too say. Just wish home works weren't complete so could stay longer. Hopefully this review gets us a free night stay just too experience the bliss once more

The front desk staff was abrupt and not fluent, and after declining the ridiculously expensive breakfast buffet at 19 GBP (it’s half at the restaurant immediately next door and without the crowds), I was banished to the far end of the hotel facing a brick wall. And me with an obvious limp from a torn ligament. Nice. Then, a day after checking out, a 50 pound charge showed up on my card – apparently for ‘extra housekeeping’. I take shots of rooms when I leave... have a look and see if you think it warrants an extra cleaning charge? Then, my card stopped working entirely, and when I called the card, they said it was because someone had tried to use an incorrect pin five times and it was then blocked. Fortunately, I cover the keypad when I use these machines because of all the high resolution cameras around and so much fraud, especially on tourists and in tourist areas (fifth time card fraud for me – the police are useless). Still, not a good sign, so beware.

Room was a high standard, clean and tidy. Not a great deal of hanging space if you were to stay for a week. Shower room was also good standard, big enough shower cubicle, the door also doubled up to close off the toilet if needed. Breakfast had all that was needed to set you up for the day, cereal, toast, Croissants, or cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage, hash brown, tomato, beans and scrambled eggs. Plenty of tea and coffee and juice. Parking at the rear, half price for hotel guests £11 for 24 hrs. Not a far walk to the main areas 15 mins (25 mins to Castle) Staff very helpful and welcoming. Would book again.
