Nice location. Friendly staff. The room on the third floor overlooking the golf course was nice and peaceful. Room was clean enough with usual tea making facilities. I used the restaurant, which was sufficient for an evening meal.

Ok a positive start to this review, the staff were lovely and a credit to the hotel. BUT.. quite simply the worst entrance to welcome guests. We actually thought it was closed possibly derelict and my wife and daughter were on phones finding an alternative place to go. How can a hotel stating 4* rating present itself in this way. Broken signs across old entrances. Rusty structure work . Overgrown grounds with weeds. An entrance sign that no longer has any name on it. Incredible that this is deemed acceptable and if was in photos on website pretty certain visitor numbers would plummet. Room was ok. But no aircon. View was onto golf course which is nice but windows were dodgy to open. To class this as 4* requires serious changes to front of hotel and actually entice people in. Owners need to do better. 3* at best and I am being generous. Yes its an old hotel but your failing to get the best out of this. Def would not stay again unless huge improvements were made to surroundings and some interior refit. Great staff is your godsend

Stayed for a nearby party. Pleasantly surprised how big the room was! Comfortable bed and a good shower. Room was clean but very hot. Fan provided but curtains should be left closed before arrival to help cool the room. Tea/coffee etc and bottled water was a nice touch, also a few small toiletries. It’s not the prettiest building but room had nice views over the golf course. Didn’t pay for breakfast so can’t comment on the food. Would stay again
